The Light in the Depths conference

We want to deal with the registration process in as human a way as possible. We know that issues may arise, so here are some guidelines to help understand how we’re working to bring this event about.

  • Registration – This is a residential event, and your booking fee covers on-site accomodation and all meals. Should the conference be oversubscribed (which we expect!) priority will be given to people who can attend the full event from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 April.
  • Accommodation – The 98 sleeping places in Corrymeela are all very comfortable, and comprise numerous 4 bed and 3 bed dorms, and some twin and single rooms. We want you to know that bookings are accepted on the mutual understanding that we may not be able to offer your preferred choice of accommodation. Should this happen, we’ll offer you an alternative. If the alternative is not acceptable to you, we’ll offer a refund.
  • Meals – We will endeavour to meet all your dietary requirements. Should this not be possible for any reason, we will advise and strive to come up with a suitable alternative.
  • Cancellation and Refunds – If for any reason we have to cancel your registration (for example, if we can’t match your accommodation choice, or for any other reason not stated here), we will offer a full refund.
  • Registrations cancelled by you:
    • Up to 31 January 2025 we will accept a cancellation from you by email and offer a full refund (minus any currency/card charges).
    • From 01 Feb – 15 March we will offer a 50% refund if you cancel your registration
    • After 16 March any refund for cancellation will only be offered depending on circumstances and at the sole discretion of the organisers.
  • Data Protection – In compliance with GDPR requirements, your booking details are held securely, and will not be disclosed beyond the conference organisers, and as needed with designated officer holders of the Anthroposophical Society in Ireland for the purposes of organising this event. Your payment transaction details are securely processed by Stripe, according to their T&Cs, available here.

IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION

From January 2025 a new “ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORISATION” (ETA) requirement comes into force across the UK, and will be finalised in March 2025.

As our conference is hosted in Northern Ireland, it’s under UK jurisdiction, you will need permission to enter the UK, and may need to apply for an ETA – even if you’ve not been required to have UK entry permission before. This applies to EU/EEA citizens also. Here is the Northern Ireland Tourist Board ETA info page. You can also watch a short informational video on ETAs here.

Travelling via the Republic of Ireland. Technically, although there is no physical border between the Republic of Ireland (RoI) and Northern Ireland, at the date of writing (Jan 2025) the ETA requirement will apply even if you are entering Northern Ireland via the Republic of Ireland.

Ireland is in the EU, but not in the Schengen area. Citizens of an EU/EEA country need a valid passport to enter the RoI. If you are travelling from a Non-EU/Non-EEA country you might need to have an entry visa for the RoI (as well as an ETA to enter Northern Ireland!) You can find out whether whether or not an entry visa for RoI is required here: www.irishimmigration.ie/
